Are you prepared to spend (the literally) minutes it will take to make your kitty-cat a delicious frozen treat? Are you prepared to slave over a frozen popsicle mold? Are you prepared to risk your fingers using a can opener, and to fend off your cat’s repeated attempts to get at the ice lolly fixings before they are placed in the freezer? If you answered yes to all these questions, then here it is, our infamous ice lolly licks recipe!
(NOTE: You can find the same molds we use (see above pic) on Amazon.com. Of course, Amazon.com has a huge selection of molds. If we could, we’d get these ice cream cone molds or these cute lollypop style ones! In Canada? Find the molds we got on Amazon.ca)
Don’t tell your cat how dead simple it is to make these!
How to Make Ice Lolly Licks:
1. Take a can of tuna or salmon with a water based broth
2. Open the can
3. Drain the liquid into a frozen popsicle mold
4. Place popsicle mold in freezer until frozen
Yes, it really is that simple! As a treat, you can also make these using the water-based broth from other canned meat, such as chicken or turkey—the high sodium content of canned meat make these ice lollies an extra special treat to be served on a limited basis (we suggest you dilute the broth with some water to cut down on the sodium per serving).
DOG OWNERS: Dogs also love the fish flavoured ice lolly licks…however, for a really great frozen dog treat recipe (so much more exciting and fancier than our super simple cat recipe!) head on over to iChaity.com!
